It was another busy weekend in Worcestershire, with lots of local events taking place.
I spent Friday morning touring Churchfields Farmhouse in Droitwich, which is famous for its ice cream and dairy products. It was fascinating to see the ice cream making process at work and I especially enjoyed sampling a few of the offerings! We also discussed the opportunities the farm has to use Droitwich’s famous brine for salt production and in other local food produce. On Friday afternoon I visited West Mercia’s Police and Crime Commissioner, John Campion, and had a productive meeting discussing the policing and crime trends in our region.
I had a fantastic time at Evesham’s annual Festival of Words on Saturday, where I was able to brush up on my Asum Grammar. Sunday was spent in the sunshine at the family fun day in the Wood Norton Hotel, followed by the Port Street Fayre in Evesham. There was a great view of Evesham and the surrounding countryside from the top of the Ferris Wheel and it was great to see how popular the paddle boarding on the River Avon was - I hope this can become a more regular offering!
