Sport England has launched a £9.5 million 'Pitch Preparation Fund' to support grassroots clubs facing challenges as a result of coronavirus, and to help get them ready for when restrictions are lifted further.
This fund, delivered through the Football Foundation, provides financial support to clubs across the country. It's open to football clubs and voluntary organisations that maintain their own natural grass pitches and have at least 12 months' security of tenure.
I'm hopeful that this fund will come as welcome news to clubs who have maybe struggled to maintain their football pitches in the wake of coronavirus.
