The Government has launched a consultation on its proposed changes to Blue Badges. These proposals represent the biggest change in Blue Badge policy since 1970 and could benefit people living with hidden disabilities such as dementia and autism.
The proposed changes are part of the Government’s drive to ensure greater parity between the treatment of physical and mental health conditions and could help to prevent the social exclusion and isolation of people with invisible disabilities.
The consultation is open until 11:45pm on 18th March 2018 and I would urge all interested constituents to take part. Further details on the consultation and how to participate are available at: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/blue-badge-disabled-parking-scheme-eligibility-review
