Worcestershire County Council recently introduced its Home Upgrade Grant Scheme, which offers free home energy efficiency improvements for low-income households not connected to mains gas for central heating.
Tenants as well as homeowners could benefit from a range of measures to help reduce energy bills, including wall insulation; loft and cavity wall insulation; air source heat pumps; solar panels and many more. The scheme offers several other benefits, including reducing a home’s carbon footprint and energy bills, with no cost to the resident.
For residents of Mid Worcestershire, the County Council is working with Wychavon District Council to deliver this programme.
Homeowners and private renters can apply if they think they meet the eligibility criteria and their property is suitable. Private renters need to seek permission from the landlord.
Further information, including the eligibility criteria and how to apply, can be found on Worcestershire County Council's website here: Home Upgrade Grant Scheme (HUG2) | Worcestershire County Council.
