During Oral Questions to the Department for Exiting the European Union earlier today, I asked new Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab whether EU businesses are lobbying their respective government's for a sensible Brexit deal.
The UK has a near £70 billion trade deficit with the EU so it is transparently in EU business' interest for us to reach a mutually beneficial deal. I was pleased to hear the Government engages regularly with EU businesses and the Brexit Secretary's recognition that there is a lot at stake for European businesses so their voice should be heard.
