On Friday, I was pleased to be able to address the 'Moving Evesham Forward' event at the Northwick Hotel. This important summit brought together local and regional leaders to discuss how we can better connect and level up Evesham. I was particularly impressed by the range of topics under discussion, with useful updates provided on where we are on a whole range of important local transport issues - including the A46, local traffic in and around Evesham, public transport and the active travel network around the town.
However, discussions were not limited to just transport. Commerciality, Urban Design and Placemaking were also an important focus. There was also discussions about our long term visions for the town, such as how we can develop Evesham as a leisure destination, how we can enhance the local evening economy and how we can increase both sustainability and innovation in the town.
I would like to thank the team at the Northwick Hotel for hosting us, and to colleagues at both Worcestershire County Council and Wychavon District Council for organising this event. Finally, I'd like to thank all in attendance for their engagement with this important summit on how we can make Evesham a better place to live and work for the future.
