This year, for the first time in several years, I revived a tradition close to my heart – the Christmas Card competition. A few weeks ago, I invited constituents to send in photographs that capture the beauty and spirit of our constituency. The response was overwhelming, with many of you sharing stunning images from across Mid Worcestershire.
Today, I am thrilled to announce that the winner of my 2023 Christmas Card Photography Competition is David Kelsey.
Mr. Kelsey’s entry, which beautifully captures the essence of the winter season, features a serene, snow-covered tree with grazing sheep beneath it. This image not only reflects the tranquillity of our landscape in winter but also the picturesque beauty that defines our constituency.
Choosing a winner was no easy task, considering the abundance of exceptional submissions I received. Each entry showcased unique perspectives of our beautiful area, making my decision challenging. However, Mr. Kelsey's photograph stood out for its serene depiction of winter in Mid Worcestershire.
I had the honour of using this winning photograph for my official 2023 Christmas cards. Over the past week, I have been distributing these cards, which included personally presenting one to the Prime Minister. It’s a small gesture that carries great significance, as it represents the beauty of our constituency on a national stage.
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their outstanding contributions. Your talent and enthusiasm have truly highlighted the artistic spirit of our community. These photographs not only brightened the festive season but also reminded us of the diverse and stunning scenery we are fortunate to have in our constituency.
Once again, thank you to David Kelsey and to everyone who participated. Your engagement makes events like this possible and adds to the rich tapestry of our community life.
