I was delighted to participate in the official opening of the Evesham Velo Park.
This incredible new facility has been jointly funded by Sport England, British Cycling and Wychavon District Council using funds generated by local housing developments.
The site (located at Evesham United FC), includes a 1km Closed Road circuit, a Cyclo-X course, a Pump Track and an All-Ability circuit to support cycling for disabled riders. There is also a ‘learn to ride’ track, marked out in a mini road layout encouraging cyclists to learn the Highway Code before heading out onto live carriageways.
The facility is fully floodlit with a purpose-built car park. There is also a shared pavilion building including toilets, changing rooms and a café. The development also included replacement football pitches.
An incredible community asset that I know will be greatly enjoyed for years to come!
