Today, in the House of Commons chamber, I told the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Michael Gove, about the great British Asparagus Festival currently being held in the Vale of Evesham.
Vale of Evesham asparagus is just one of six UK fruit and vegetables that have EU protected geographical indication status, showing the high level of quality of asparagus grown in the area. I also asked the Secretary of State whether he could come along to one of the brilliant events that will be running until 21st June, and if he would lend his support to our world-class British farmers.
