I joined farmers in Westminster to protest against Labour’s damaging new Family Farm Tax—a policy that threatens the future of British farms.
Hundreds of farmers and tractors descended on Westminster to voice their concerns over the tax, which could force many family farms to sell land or shut down entirely. Industry leaders, including the National Farmers’ Union (NFU), have warned that the policy will cripple the next generation of farmers and drive up food prices, impacting families across the UK.
Labour’s Family Farm Tax is an attack on British farming. These changes will drive up costs, force farms out of business, and threaten our country’s ability to produce its own food. Farmers aren’t just running businesses—they are the backbone of our rural communities and custodians of our landscape. Labour simply doesn’t understand the countryside.
The Conservatives have pledged to reverse the Family Farm Tax and restore full agricultural tax relief. When in government, they invested £2.4 billion annually into farming, provided grants to boost productivity, and backed British farmers at every step.
I will continue to stand with our farmers and fight against this unfair tax. The government must listen to those who put food on our tables before it’s too late.
