Worcester Warriors fans in Worcestershire and beyond will have seen the statement from the RFU today that they are not yet able to approve a bid from the preferred bidders for the Club - a consortium led by former Warriors CEO, Jim O'Toole.
But conversations will continue and the administrators may also engage with other potential bidders.
I remain hopeful that a new owner can be found for the Worcester Warriors who will take over the stadium and ensure that rugby at Sixways has a long term and sustainable future. And I call on all stakeholders and interested parties to work constructively together to find a solution and conclude a deal as soon as reasonably possible.
Robin Walker (the MP for Worcester) and I have both spoken too.
the CEO of the RFU today and we also had a video conference with the Sports Minister, Stuart Andrew, to discuss the situation. I was pleased to hear from the Sports Minister that he and his team remain committed to finding a solution that sustains Rugby in Worcester.
