I had a call today with Worcestershire County Council leaders and the Director of Public Health for Worcestershire, Kathryn Cobain, along with other Worcestershire MPs to get an update on the Coronavirus situation in Worcestershire and in particular with the recent outbreak near Evesham.
23 workers at EVG have now tested positive. I am reassured that the authorities are doing everything they can to monitor the situation and contain the outbreak and EVG are cooperating fully. Testing as well as tracking and tracing is taking place to help identify the extent of the issue and people affected are being told to self isolate.
This latest outbreak is another reminder that while we have seen the easing of lockdown restrictions recently, Coronavius is still very much with us. We must all continue to be aware and take precautions through social distancing, additional hygiene and other measures to protect ourselves and others from the further spread of the virus. We will save lives and livelihoods by doing so.
