On Friday 12th October I visited the FCC Environment Energy from Waste facility in Hartlebury.
I was taken on a tour of the site, which produces green energy from waste. Not only does the waste management at the Hartlebury facility help to drastically reduce the amount of waste that Worcestershire residents send to landfill, but the energy produced at the facility is enough to power approximately 32,000 homes as well as businesses across the county. During the tour I learned that per year, the Hartlebury facility can treat up to 200,000 tonnes of household and commercial waste and it was fascinating to see this work firsthand.
