I strongly encourage local residents to get ready for the West Midlands ticket ballot. As the West Midlands is the main host region for the Games, residents can apply for an early release of tickets.
From 14-30 July 2021, the West Midlands Ballot will be open, so those living in the West Midlands should get ready to make an application for tickets. This ballot comes before the majority of tickets that will be sold in the Main Ballot which is open to everyone in September later this year.
In terms of what’s on offer, there are 286 sessions of sport with 19 different sports. The Games will be spread over 11 days and ticket prices start from £8 for under-16s and £15 for adults. There will also be £22 tickets available for every session of the Games, including medal sessions, and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
With the West Midlands Ballot, you can set up a ticket account now and will be notified on 14th July when the Ballot opens. There will be limits on the number of tickets in each session that you can apply for and be allocated and registration and entry into the ballot do not necessarily guarantee tickets. After 30th July, the entry to the ballot closes and you will be notified by email within 30 days if you have been successful in getting tickets.
This is such an incredible opportunity for the West Midlands and local residents to see some absolutely fantastic sports and athletics. You have the chance to see the very best of the best competing in Birmingham, and I would strongly encourage entry into this ballot – where you may have more of a chance of winning tickets than the Main Ballot later on. Please do spread the word and don’t pass up the opportunity to be there at the biggest sporting event ever to be held in the West Midlands!
