Theresa May has made a clear play for the centre ground of British Politics in her speech to Conservative Party Conference. More than 11,000 delegates attended the Party Conference at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Birmingham, including the highest number of young people ever.
The theme of the conference was ‘a party that works for everyone’ and the Prime Minister, Theresa May, set out her vision for a progressive, inclusive and fairer society in her first speech as Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister set out a clear vision for the future of Britain. The speech was not full of detailed policy announcements, but set a very moderate and inclusive tone for the May government. Her conference speech was confident and very prime ministerial. Theresa May looked and sounded as if she had been Prime Minister for years.
