Wychavon has been named the second best rural place to live in the country, surpassed only by the Orkney Islands. Halifax runs an annual survey to identify which rural districts in the UK have the highest quality of life, taking into account factors such as life expectancy, crime rates and residents' health. This year's survey also included a leisure category, meaning that factors such as the availability of pubs and leisure centres were also taken into account for the first time. The survey was carried out by using sources such as the ONS, government data, the Met Office, Ofcom and Halifax.
Wychavon is a fantastic place to live and I'm delighted that it has been recognised for the excellent quality of life it offers. I'm proud of the high scores Wychavon has received for measures such as life expectancy, employment rate and well-performing schools and I will continue working hard to ensure that it remains a great place to live, work and visit.
