This weekend I went to Droitwich Spa Cricket Club to meet young participants of the All Stars programme. All Stars is a nationwide English Cricket Board (ECB) initiative to get young people into cricket and with over 100 children signed up, Droitwich has the second highest intake in the country. I had a great time joining in with the batting, bowling and fielding drills and was impressed to see some of the skills of cricketers as young as eight.
The same day saw Droitwich's men's team beat Coombs Wood by three wickets, knocking their opponents off the top of the table. The team chased down 257 and managed to eclipse their opponents total in the final over of the match. Well done to all involved!
