It was a pleasure to receive a letter from the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity this month updating me on their use of £1 million awarded to them by the Treasury in 2016. I had been involved in supporting the bid and am happy to see the money being used so well.
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity have upgraded their fleet of helicopters and bought a new and larger H145 aircraft. The new helicopter entered daily service in February this year and has already undertaken over 300 missions across the Midlands, many of them resulting in endangered lives being saved. Nine of these cases took part in my constituency and I am eternally grateful to the team for keeping my constituents safe following incidents including road traffic collisions and serious falls.
I am sure the upgraded fleet will continue this fantastic work.
