This week I gave my support to a campaign which seeks to recognise young people’s talent and to help develop opportunities for young adults across the country who are entering the workforce for the first time.
I was delighted to sign the Youth Employment UK’s MP Charter during an event at the House of Commons, and I committed to championing its five key principles which include advocating all pathways into employment, ensuring young people have access to quality careers advice, and to celebrate the role young people play in the local economy, as well as their role in the wider community through social action and volunteering.
By signing the pledge, I reaffirmed my commitment to creating more opportunities for young people and supporting fair employment to ensure they are treated fairly for the work they do.
As a Vice Chairman of the Conservative Party with responsibility for engaging young people, I know that it is crucial we develop and support high quality training and learning opportunities for every individual, whether in Worcestershire or elsewhere in the country, to ensure sure they have the skills to pursue their chosen career and make a positive contribution to our economy.
