Yesterday I had another opportunity to ask the Prisons Minister, Robert Buckland QC, what he and the Government was doing to help support local voluntary organisations and charities who themselves help former prisoners get back on their feet and reduce the rate of re-offending.
I am pleased to hear that the Government is localising some probation services so that local charities and organisations, like Caring Hands in the Vale run by Diane Bennett, are given the right support to help with their important work. I've had the pleasure of visiting Caring Hands on multiple occasions since being elected as an MP.
