The Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has recently launched an initiative to make it easier for businesses to access the full range of government support available.
I'm pleased that the Government are campaigning to spread information to businesses all across the UK on what the Government can do to help them grow. Instead of having information in different places across the web, all information will be able to be found on one website - whether you need help for business planning when you’re just starting out, or want to find partners for innovation, or need support to start trading internationally.
The Government wants businesses to be able to easily access the resources available to them. It will provide links to local organisations who can understand the challenges and opportunities in a particular geographic area, such as local Growth hubs and Local Enterprise Partnerships. In Worcestershire, this will mean more specialised knowledge and advice for your business, working with existing networks and organisations who know the ground well. The site also signposts the financial support on offer from the British Business Bank, which has supported 90,000 smaller businesses with over £7 billion in investment or loans.
For any budding entrepreneurs, the Government is also expanding start-up loans to give businesses the boost they need to get started. Whether people are newly starting out as self-employed, running a family business, or on their way to creating the next household name, this Government is showing its commitment to providing easy access to advice and support.
I know there are so many fantastic businesses in the area and I know my constituents work extremely hard and contribute a lot to the community with their enterprise, so I’m really pleased that it will now be easier than ever before to access government support.
I think making sure all the links and help are in one place will make a huge difference to finding what you want or need for each specific business. There are some great schemes and grants out there to help businesses at all different stages, and a whole range of advice, which was difficult to track down before. I do hope that business owners and workers will take the time to check this new website out and to let me know if they find it useful.
