Great to visit the Sixways Stadium in Worcester and meet with the management team of Worcester Warriors
I had the pleasure of getting a guided tour of the stadium, meeting with players and staff and was presented with a signed Warriors shirt by Club Captain Ted Hill, one of 17 products of the Three Pears Warriors Academy in the current first team squad.
It was also a good opportunity for me, as the Under-Secretary for Sport, Heritage and Tourism at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, to meet with owners Colin Goldring and Jason Whittingham to discuss the challenges faced by Warriors and other Premiership clubs at a time when crowds are not permitted to attend professional sports events due to COVID-19.
Looking forward to working closely with clubs like these as we look into how we can best support them through this crisis.
