The Environment Agency has provided further updates regarding the level of flooding in Worcestershire and surrounding areas:
"After the rainfall earlier in the week, the weather is currently showery and is forecast to become more settled into the weekend. As the catchment is already saturated, we have seen sharp rises on top of already elevated river levels in response to this rainfall.
We have Community Information Officers active at key locations including Upton on Severn, Greyfriars, Tenbury, Bewdley and Worcester, providing information to local communities and reporting concerns back to our Incident Room.
We currently have several flood alerts and flood warnings active across the region. Shropshire and Herefordshire currently have 15 Flood Alerts and 27 Flood Warnings in place. Gloucestershire and Worcestershire have 9 Flood Alerts and 31 Flood Warnings active. We expect less overall rain but some isolated towards the ends of the week, and further Flood Warnings may be issued along the River Severn corridor as the peaks move down."
The extent of flooding in Evesham - and across Worcestershire more broadly - is considerable. Constituents can keep up to date with the latest news through Worcestershire Highways, local news outlets and the Government's webpage here: Check for flooding in Worcestershire - GOV.UK (check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk).
