Nigel Huddleston said:
"Thank you to the residents of Droitwich, Evesham and the surrounding villages for re-electing me. I will do my very best to promote your priorities, and represent your values and interests in this parliament - and hold the new Labour government to account."
"I am very grateful to everyone who voted for me. But it is my duty and honour to represent everyone in the constituency no matter who they voted for."
It was a night of mixed emotions as many good friends and colleagues lost their seats. Nigel added:
"Over the coming weeks and months my Conservative colleagues and I will carefully reflect on the reasons why many people felt unable to lend us their support at this election."
